Christian Counselling — Calgary & Alberta
Counselling that shares your worldview
Faith, family and common sense. Psychological and spiritual counselling that takes your beliefs seriously without setting aside the science of psychology.
You should not have to choose between a therapist who understands clinical work and one who understands your faith.
Faith and psychology in the same room
A lot of people of faith arrive having had one of two experiences: counselling where their spiritual life was treated as a symptom, or spiritual advice that had nothing practical to offer the anxiety, grief or marriage strain they were actually living with.
Vince trained in both. An MDiv and a B.A. in Religion sit alongside a M.A. in Counselling, Beck Institute CBT training and registration as a psychotherapist. That means the room can hold your prayer life and your panic attacks at the same time, without either being explained away.
You set the dial. Some clients want scripture and prayer woven through. Others want straightforward therapy from someone who simply gets where they are coming from. Both are welcome.
Sound familiar?
This tends to fit people who
- Want a counsellor who does not treat faith as a problem to be managed.
- Are wrestling with guilt, shame or a sense of having drifted.
- Are carrying grief and questions about it that are as spiritual as they are emotional.
- Want marriage or pre-marital work grounded in a shared understanding of covenant.
- Have been hurt inside a church community and do not know where to take it.
- Prefer a common-sense, plain-spoken approach over clinical distance.
Spiritual direction, if that is what you are after
Alongside counselling, Vince offers spiritual direction — a slower, reflective conversation about where your life and your faith are actually heading. His chaplaincy training (CPE, CPC I) and years in pastoral care sit behind that work.
Whether you book counselling, spiritual direction, or something that moves between the two, it begins the same way: a free 15 minute conversation with no obligation.

Questions
Common questions
- Is this counselling or spiritual direction?
- It can be either, or both. Some clients come for clinical therapy from someone who shares their worldview. Others come specifically for spiritual direction. We decide together at the start what you actually want.
- Will you tell me what to believe?
- No. Faith is integrated when you want it in the room, and set aside when you do not. Your beliefs are yours to work out.
- Is faith-based counselling still evidence-based?
- Yes. Vince holds a M.A. in Counselling alongside an MDiv, with Beck Institute CBT and Gottman training. The clinical work is the same quality you would expect anywhere; the difference is that your spiritual life is not treated as irrelevant.
- Do I need to attend a church to come in?
- Not at all. People come from every point on the spectrum — deeply involved, drifting, hurt by church, or simply curious.
